MOTOGP OPENED 2011 with a three-day test during which Honda demonstrated a unified strength ahead of the upcoming season.

HRC topped the timesheets on all three-days with Stoner taking Tuesdays fastest, Pedrosa taking the lead the following day, it was unexpectedly Marco Simoncelli who left the first test session of the year on a high with the fastest time around Sepang.

The obvious facts that can be gleamed from the results of the pre-season test for 2011 is that Honda are showing a return of form, closely followed by Yamaha - in blue to celebrate their 50th anniversary - showing that Champion, Jorge Lorenzo and new recruit Ben Spies can maintain Yamaha's pace with the loss of Valentino Rossi.

The Ducati garage showed progress on the final day with Rossi and Hayden showing more promise and moving in and closer to the top 10, hinting that the Italian manufacturer are closing in on a competitive setup on the Desmosedici.

Simoncelli's time of 2:00.757 - was set before lunch and stood till the close of the session.

Get in there Sideshow Bob!!! Good to see him firing at last.

Just a quick footnote:

"Ben Spies was fourth by lunch with a best effort of 2'01.002, followed by Repsol Honda's Casey Stoner at a further 0.110s back. The Australian crashed at Turn 5 during the morning".

Good to see Moaner back in the groove................LOL

It's all meaningless at the moment, some are trying to get the upper hand to put a shot across the rest of their bows, some (VR46 maybe) are hedging to lull the others into a false sense of security.

These tests are all mind game time, with a bit of development.
