Mmmm. This is all sounding a bit familiar ...
AND RIGHT ON CUE from Repsol Honda:
HRC is delighted to announce that Casey Stoner will become a factory Honda rider in next year’s MotoGP World Championship. The Australian 2007 World Champion, who rode in the Honda LCR Team in his debut MotoGP season in 2006, will rejoin Honda after four seasons with Ducati. Honda’s complete factory team line-up for 2011 will be officially presented later in the season.
HRC Vice President Shuhei Nakamoto said:“We are very pleased that Casey will join Honda again next year. Clearly he is one of the top riders in MotoGP and he will bring valuable speed and experience to our team. In the factory Honda squad we already have two very strong and experienced riders in Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso who are performing very well and currently hold second and third positions in the 2010 World Championship. HRC hopes also to retain these two riders for next year - giving us what would be a truly formidable line-up.”
And with Rossi lined up to take Stoner's ride at Ducati we don't know what's more exciting: the racing itself or who's going where next year.
Roll on 2011!
If these statements came out in this order I love that Ducati stole Honda's announcement from under them.
I wonder how many podium times will Honda score a podium whitewash next season? Last time it happened was Laguna Seca '06 with Hayden, Pedrosa and Melandri. This is the most desirable line-up a team has had after the Lorenzo/Rossi duo that Yamaha have had for the past three years.

I reckon Lorenzo and Spies next season is still a killer combo for Yamaha.
Rossi and Hayden not a bad combination either , so could be a brilliant season next year.

What a bolt from the blue this announcement is.
Normally the rumourmill has whispers before a signing but not a thing about this....Is what Honda would probably have liked.
This has been a foregone conclusion ever since Stoner's old team manager switched to Honda and they then inturn switched to the engine configuration Stoner prefers
