THE sun was out for the opening free practice session as the rain came down for FP2, as it stands Marco Simoncelli is the fastest from Casey Stoner from the times set in the morning session.
Simoncelli set a fastest time of 1:48.987 and only .040 ahead of fellow HRC rider Stoner in the morning session. Valentino Rossi struggled with mechanical problem in the opening session, struggling into 13th and 1.7 seconds off the fastest time.
In FP2 only a handful of riders made it out in the damp conditions of FP2. With most of the times set in the last five minutes of the afternoon practice.
