CASEY STONER sealed a sixth consecutive home win at Phillip Island, with a commanding 9 second lead over Jorge Lorenzo, who seals the world championship with a second place finish.
Lorenzo's title rival Dani Pedrosa was in the lead until lap 2, when he crashed out.
This title win makes Lorenzo the first Spaniard to become a double title winner. He has reaped the reward of a highly consistent season - he finished either first or second in every race apart from the Assen TT.
Valentino Rossi, who has a great record at Phillip Island, could only achieve seventh on the day.
