JORGE LORENZO mastered the wet conditions at Le Mans to take a commanding win by over nine seconds.
Taking the lead early, the factory Yamaha rider left the remaining podium positions to be fought between Casey Stoner, Valentino Rossi and the Tech 3 pair of Andrea Dovizioso and Cal Crutchlow - until the satellite Yamaha riders fell in the damp conditions of the team's home race.
This left Rossi to stalk Stoner, a back-and-forth battle ensued between the two, with Rossi able to get the better of the reigning champion, scoring his best finish on the Ducati and ending a year long podium drought.
