CASEY Stoner took an important victory at Brno as championshi rival Jorge Lorenzowas unable to finish on the podium in the Czech GP.
From pole position Dani Pedrosa controlled the early stages of the race, but a fall after losing the front gifted team-mate Stoner the lead. The Australian worked his way pass Andrea Dovizioso and Lorenzo and benefitting from Pedrosa's crash, took a commanding lead to the flag.
Dovizioso passed the reigning champion, Lorenzo for second as the Yamaha rider also lost out on a podium to Marco Simoncelli. The Gresini rider earned his first MotoGP podium and completed a factory Honda lock-out of the top three positions.
