UNOFFICIAL news winging its way from Japan in the last 12 hours claims next weekend's Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi has been postponed until October due to disruption to European flights caused by the Icelandic volcanic ash clouds.

Fiat Yamaha team manager, Davide Brivio, said via Twitter:

"Looks like we are not going to race in Motegi... Airports are closed in Europe. Nobody could reach Japan. Tomorrow we will know exactly 100%"

Dorna, the governing body of MotoGP, has yet to confirm the news.
