McCoy to start testing FB Corse MotoGP bike mid-March

Sliding Aussie to prove newborn MotoGP bike can hold its own in 2010

THE KING OF SLIDE - Garry McCoy - will be putting FB Corse’s FB01 MotoGP bike through its paces later this month, when the team start initial pre-season testing.

FB Corse has confirmed they will be testing at Valencia’s Ricardo Torno circuit March 15-17 with recently-named team rider McCoy.

The team's three-cylinder 800cc bike, which has been built using technology from the now defunct BMW MotoGP squad, needs to show it's capable of running competitively in MotoGP before it's officially allowed in this year's series, which starts at Losail circuit, Qatar, on April 28th.

McCoy’s lap times need to be within 3 seconds of the last qualifying rider from last year’s Valencia GP (Chris Vermeulen - 1′34.537) to qualify the team for the 2010 season.
