Marc Marquez undergoes surgery

2013 MotoGP world champion gets operation to improve his breathing

MARC Marquez 2013 MotoGP world champion underwent surgery on Monday, to improve breathing through his nose.

The procedure was performed to fix ‘a deviated septum that produced a respiratory obstruction preventing him breathing properly’.

The recently crowned champion decided to have the operation during the winter testing ban that prohibits any ‘on-track testing for the race teams [in] December and most of January’.

The operation was undertaken at the Universitari Quirón Dexeus Hospital where they advised Marquez to take one week’s rest.

Marquez’ next test will be held at Sepang on February 4th.
