These are the remnants of Carmelo Morales' Moto2 bike following a huge crash on the start/finish straight at the end of the race.

The sickening crash occured when Morales clipped the rear tyre of Kenny Noyes whilst trying to slipstream him over the line in a battle over seventh position.
Thankfully the 31-year-old, who was making his Moto2 debut onboard the Kalex Pons machine was uninjured apart from a scratch to his hand and bruising to his shoulder. He joked with Noyes in the Clinica Mobile following the race.

The course workers had a busy hour with an abundance of crashes that included a pile-up at the first corner and Niccolò Canepa's Scot Honda bursting in to flames.
