Honda and Yamaha teams to attempt to break up Burgess/Rossi partnership with lucrative deal

REPORTS from the MotoGP paddock suggest Yamaha or Honda could offer Rossi's chief mechanic, Jerry Burgess, a sizeable wage increase to lure the Australian away from joining the Italian at Ducati in 2011.

Burgess, one of the most successful technicians in GP history, is approaching the latter part of his career; the temptation of boosting his retirement fund by a considerable margin could spell the end of the Rossi/Burgess partnership.

This was something Doohan had suggested they should do, don't think he'll do it though, i reckon he'll see out Rossi's day's before moving on to pastures/riders new.

I think this shows they are worried about how fast rossi is going to be on the ducati and they are trying everything they can to knock him.

Spot on mobus. That was the first thing I thought. Try and destabilise the competition. Knowing Burgess I believe he will act as a team player and show his loyalty rather than be lured by a cynical offer.
