The word in the MotoGP paddock is that Hayden won't be out of a Ducati ride in 2011
HAS HAYDEN already signed to stay with Ducati for 2011? The 2006 World Champion, whose results on the Italian bike have radically improved in his second year, deflected talk about contracts ... but the omens are good, after team chief Vittoriano Guareschi confirmed at Mugello that they hope to keep the American.
“At this moment I feel I’ve made a big step, and I’m happy here,” said Hayden, who had spent time after Mugello at Misano for World Ducati Week, and had also visited the factory.
“I was in Bologna last week. They would like ... obviously getting on the podium would be better for Ducati and for Marlboro, but we’re working in the right way, so... I’d be happy to stay,” he said.
Pushed further, he said: “”Like every year you’re waiting for the top one or two guys to fall into place. At the moment I’m not really caught up in contract stuff.”
