Step forward, 41-year-old Wataru Yoshikawa
VETERAN RACER Wataru Yoshikawa is to stand in for injured MotoGP star Valentino Rossi in the Fiat Yamaha squad, the team has announced.Yoshikawa, 41, a former Japanese Superbike champion, will replace Rossi at this weekend's Dutch TT at Assen. No stranger to the MotoGP paddock, Yoshikawa has ridden as a wilcard in several previous events, including the 2001 Pacific Grand Prix at Motegi.
So, no Spies, Edwards, Toseland or Crutchlow.

Interesting.... and he is exempt from the "rookie rule"?
Spies ran three wildcard races in '08 and one in '09... yet he is a "rookie"... a damned fine one too!!

Should have given it to Randy De Puniet. Everyone hates the French anyway and imagine the nail-bitting tension everytime that crazy frenchie took a corner or got anywhere near another bike; terrified he'll throw one of Rossi's precious bikes down the road
...bring some excitement back to Motogp =]
