Rossi back on a Yamaha

VALENTINO ROSSI was photographed for the first time back on a Yamaha today at the Valencia test.

Traditionally, the inter-season test is an opportunity to familiarise transfered riders with their teams and just as importantly, give the public a glimpse of what is to come over the forthcoming season.

No unveiling has been as eagerly anticipated as that of Valentino Rossi, who will return to Yamaha after a disappointing two-year spell at Ducati, in which he claimed just three podium finishes in 35 races. Fans clamoured for a glimpse of Rossi atop the YZR-M1 he will race alongside current world champion Jorge Lorenzo in 2013.

Unfortunately from a sporting point of view, this morning's test session was cut short by rain. The 33-year-old was one of the first out on track and set a time of 1.44.158 after two laps, when a sudden burst of rain disrupted proceedings just 10 minutes after the track had opened for the start of testing.

Heading into next season, fans will be hoping that The Doctor will be able to return to winning ways back at Yamaha, with whom he won four world championships.

Looks better already. Even the artwork on the number reminds me of the 250 days. I hope his fluent style returns too. It went on the ducati - he was stiff and rigid, trying to match technique obviously. I want to see the old carving fluent rossi again.

Should just rename it the YamaHonda Cup and be done with it.

Is it my imagination, or does he look like like he's carrying a bit more weight that usual? I don't want to go calling the guy fat but he seems a bit more generously proportioned, around the waist band area. Has he not been training properly during his time at Ducati?

He probably put the weight on purposely to add more weight to the front end.

Aki
Why do they hold the last race of the season in Europe in November! More often than not the weathers crap and then you have a crap test session straight after it. I'm sure it would be far more useful in a hot location even if it is a long way from their base?

aw
he will need it (luck)

That paint-job/leather scheme looks ace! I know they wont but they should run it for the actual motogp not just testing! I'll put some more exclamation marks to emphasise!!

I reckon it"s gona be a real tough season for VR, he has to re- learn the yam amid expectations of success, and all the hungry gang are not going to give him any quarter,Dani is defo on it, Mr lorenzo is much matured ,Stefan is learning fast ,and even Ben"s standin is romping along (what a great ride he had),lets hope that our Cal can keep up the great work that he is doing .

should be a great season ...roll o 2013

Looks like too many Pizzas!

Aki - It's because Dorna are Spanish, Repsol are Spanish and half the riders are Spanish (a by-product of the first two)

Can I ask savman, are you referring to Ben Spies when you say Ben's standing is romping along and he had a great race.....?

Or are you being sarcastic in this and I'm being dim......

There also needs to be a big shout to Bradders. After the endless slating that people gave him for not being up the front on that Mistral 610 he's proving what a class act he truly is.

yeah sav man, id like to know who you're referring to as well. Ben Spies career is over red rover.

Big predictions? I dont know, I dont see Lorenzo and Ped being challenged really apart from the possibility and hope of 46. Yall seem to be talking the younger ones up but I see it largely as this year Im afraid.
