Ferrari boss "would do everything" to get Rossi in F1

Just when you thought the dust had settled along comes Ferrari's No.1 to stir it all up again

HERE WE go again.

Outgoing Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo has openly said he wants nine-time motorcycle World Champion Valentino Rossi in a third F1 car in 2011.

Speaking in Milan, Montezemolo said thinks Rossi has made his mark in motorcycling and now must take up the challenge of F1:

"We want a third car and I would do everything to have Valentino," said the Italian. "When he wins this year's MotoGP, enough is enough, he must also win in Formula One."

Rossi tested for Ferrari a few months ago, posting a lap time just outside Kimi Raikkonen's 2008 best at the Circuit de Catalunya. Despite wowing the F1 team with his scintillating performance, Rossi has said he has no realistic chance of a future in F1, as he deems himself too old. Believe that one if you want to.

So, the story continues. Will he, won't he?

If he is motivated by F1 and can get his heart into it and if Ferrari give him a car then he must do it! Afterall, one of the other outstanding records is that of John Surtees and Vale knows all the records and breaks them one-by-one......

I'm in agreement with Ian. If the deal's on the table then Rossi should seriously think about it.

It's not as though he's miles off the pace and been offered the drive by one of the lesser teams. And I bet Ferrari would stump up huge wedge to get him in the team.

Do it Vale!

Anyone reckon Schumacher has returned to encourage Vale, 10 years younger, to have a go? After all, he's proved you can't do cars then bikes - all the skill in the world doesn't soften inevitable landings, especially if the bones are past the 40 years we are all designed to last for. Now the fag money is diminishing, Bernie needs a new impetus. Women don't often buy Ferrari's but mostly provide the motivation for ownership. So, that leaves James Bond (MGM skint so bob hope) or Valentino Rossi, proven top drawer viewing stats.

Win this year Vale, then toast 'em in F1. I just saw a cars' wheels fall off at 200mph and the guy hadn't even a scratch...

4 years, then some kids. Let the rest have a few wins then we start again. Only fair you should sleep in your dad's old estate car too.

 Now there's a challenge VR.

I thought Ducati would be first in line.

I dunno what to make of all this. If IF Suzuki do go the CRT route, I reckon it would be a bit of a shame. But I can understand the reasons,...
