Faulty throttle blamed for Pedrosa crash

Stuck throttle dashes Repsol rider's 2010 Championship bid

A PROBLEM WITH the throttle cable on Dani Pedrosa's Honda RC212V has been attributed as the cause of the Spaniards crash in this morning's first free practice at Motegi.

Pedrosa crashed with just five minutes into the hour-long session, fracturing his collarbone and effectively handing the 2010 MotoGP title to Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo.

Repsol Honda MotoGP issued a statement surrounding the crash, part of which reads:

'A small problem with the throttle cable didn't allow Pedrosa to close the throttle when he came to brake, an issue which has already been investigated and resolved.'

Pedrosa is now on his way back to Barcelona to undergo surgery.

Actually it was 5 minutes into the session.

Feel sorry for Danny but when you look at the photo it is fortunate that he has come away with the injuries he has.

Hopefully he  recovers fully and I look forward to watching next year.

I'm glad Pedrosa is ok.  With that said, he's an unhappy little douche, and I'm glad he's no longer in contention for the title.
