ROSSI'S REPLACEMENT, starting at the Catalunyan GP, will be former team-mate Colin Edwards - that's the tip coming from our MotoGP insider.

After a bid to put Ben Spies on the factory Fiat Yamaha ran into political and organisational problems, Edwards is the go-to man.

This is the most likely scenario, with his place on the Monster Tech 3 Yamaha team to be taken by factory test rider Wataru Yoshikawa, who took part in tests earlier this year. His last GP was the Japanese round at Motegi in 2002, where he finished 12th.
