"We'll even paint the bike blue" says Filippo Preziosi
DUCATI TEAM boss Filippo Preziosi has said he is prepared to paint the squad's Desmosedici racer "in blue", if it will swing Yamaha's decision to allow Valentino Rossi to test for Ducati at the end of the season in Valencia.Preziosi's tongue-in-cheek comments come following Yamaha's statement by team boss Masao Furusawa that Rossi will be "wearing blue until the end of the year", suggesting the Italian will not get the chance to ride the all-red Ducati racer before 2011.Rossi's contracted to Yamaha until the end of 2010, which would mean the Italian would miss the three-day post-season test session at Valencia."We will grant any of Furusawa's wishes, we'll even paint the bike blue," Preziosi told Gazzetta dello Sport. Honda pulled a similar stunt in 2003, when the team stopped Rossi testing for Yamaha, something Preziosi believes won't do Yamaha any good. "I don't want to believe that and it would be bad - last time that happened it didn't bring much luck."

this really sounds like sour grapes from yamaha doesnt it ?
they wanted to give him a paycut and then they get all upset that he leaves!
if Yamaha believe that the Rossi era is over and its now the time of Lorenzo and Spies then they should shut up and put there money where their mouth is
i think in reality they thought Rossi would never leave

It will damage Yamaha's reputation if they stop him riding @ the Valencia test imo, Ducati are allowing Casey to ride the Honda at that test.
Yamaha should thank Rossi for the best 7 years they have had as a company and let him test with their best wishes, they have two top riders in Jorge and Ben for 2011 so they should let Rosi go and concentrate on those two riders @ the Valencia test.

If Yamaha decides to prevent Rossi from testing in Valencia it will be a classless act. It will also be a marketing dissaster as Rossi has one of the largest fan bases in MotoGP and the story will be well followed.
Rossi gave SEVEN years to Yamaha and helped create the bike they have today ... not to mention all the championships and related/ensuing Yamaha bike sales. Yamaha made up it's mind to have Lorenzo as their top rider (and he is, of course, amazing) and this set up Rossi's move to Ducati. Let him test and wish him well. It is the classy way to part ways and thank him for all he has done.
