Dovizioso: ‘I would never team up with Rossi’

Dovizioso rules out a move to Ducati whilst Rossi heads their MotoGP effort

TYPICALLY the quiet one in MotoGP Andrea Dovizioso, interviewed in an Italian magazine, has spoken about his lack of desire to partner Valentino Rossi at Ducati.

“I would never accept to be teamed up with Valentino Rossi,” Dovizioso told MAX magazine, “It would be pure masochism. There is no room for anybody at his side, he takes it from you and he takes it all. When Rossi is ready to share the limelight it will be the end of his racing days.“

Known for shying from limelight himself, Dovi also criticised the attention lauded upon some of his other competitors: “There are racers who end up on the podium and those media hyped racers - and their media worth almost never corresponds to their sporting results. Simoncelli, Spies and Bautista are fan favourites, but they hardly know the taste of victory."

With regards to Ducati it appears that Andrea has seemingly written off the possibility of joining the Italian manufacturer in the meantime. The Italian has received offers to race on a Desmosedici GP next year and the idea of the 25-year-old riding for them in the future is not far-fetched, as earlier this month he said: "The idea is honestly attractive and fascinating to me, but I think it's a risk that doesn't make much sense considering that I believe the option will be open to me in another year, or further in the future.”

Dovizioso has not yet secured a ride for 2012 and is currently in talks with both LCR Honda and Tech 3 Yamaha for next season.

Oooh Biiiiiitchy! The quiet man of motoGP seems to have got a stick lodged up his posterior exit.

Whingy anti Rossi BS aside, I like the fact that he’s slagging off “media hyped racers...[like] Simoncelli, Spies and Bautista” when his results hardly place him in a league above them: indeed I’d like to see him try to do better than Bautista’s results whilst riding the GSXRV. And Spies has hardly set the track alight like the press (especially in the US) expected him to but Dovizioso’s isn’t really significantly out performing him despite being on the best bike in the paddock. As for Simoncelli, its obvious where that’s coming from and hardly bears further comment.

When all’s said and done he’s the (decidedly) third best rider of the three, on the best bike, in the best team on the 2011 grid, hardly the lofty position from which to look down on others.

And that is why i have no time for Divizioso whatsoever. Jumped up mouthy little git whos moaning makes no sense at all. Also take the Fing stupid hat off.

And breath...

Dovi keeps the hat because he is going bald and is self-conscious. He should have stuck to being quiet, now we all know what he thinks and it is unattractive.

Ooops. Probably shouldnt have said that.

I like the bloke... Rossi is a bum home of a team mate, he proved that with his treatment of Lorenzo, but the fans fall fit Rossi's 'smile, wave and blow a kiss when the camera is here'thing

Lorenzo beat him on a Yami, Stoner is better than him on the ducati...

Dovi's comments against the others are a bit off, but he's often up there but doesn't get the press... It would be annoying... He's just missing that extra 0.1% that some of the other riders have

What wrong with ‘I would never team up with Rossi’

the guy is right....

and all the people know that.

and who would ride that creepy bike?

cant believe people must pay to ride that duc

lots and lots of money....... hahahaha only fools

What??? Vale gets all the lime light and all the new bits first!! It's so unfair!!! Anyone would think hes won like 9 world titles or something..........oh wait........hang on...

As MKJ says. Dovi is not exactly setting the world alight on THE best bike in the paddock, he's doing a good job, but must try harder. The above has actually annoyed me, which has annoyed me even more, as I quite like(D) Dovi. He needs to wind his neck in...

Posted: 03/10/2011 at 08:55

Dovi will not win a title in MOTOGP ever and has only won a couple of races anyway, he's been lucky to stop on the works Honda as long as he has.

I dont get what happens with Duc in Motogp, but look at sbk and you will understand why people ride Ducs. Fools? Don't think so
