Dovi to ride 'new' Ducati at Sachsenring

Italian will race the updated GP13 this weekend

SACHSENRING hosts this weekend's MotoGP round, where Ducati rider Andrea Dovizioso will race the 'new' version of the Desmosedici GP13 bike.

"For the first time, Andrwa will bring the 'new' bike for a race weekend" Ducati team manager Vittoriano Guareschi commented, "We did a good job last week in a private test at Misano, so for the first time, Andrea will bring the 'new' bike for a race weekend".

Pramac's Iannone is another Andrea who is also hoping to ride the new machine this weekend but factory rider Nicky Hayden has chosen to stick with the current bike.

Ducati will certainly be aiming for better results than the last round at Assen. Valentino Rossi, who switched from the Italian manufacturer back to Yamaha for 2013, took victory in the race whilst Dovizioso crossed the line over half a minute later in tenth place.

Hopeful about the upcoming weekend, Dovi says "We knew Assen was tough for us, but the Sachsenring is a track I look forward to going to. Everybody knows knows that the 'waterfall' corner is one of the best corners in all of racing, and if the bike is working well there, it's a lot of fun".
