DORNA CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta has said that cost-cutting measures in MotoGP would mean that BMW would enter a team in the championship.
Ezpeleta said in an interview that he'd like to see a 15-million Euro cap on costs per team, excluding marketing and rider salaries. Ezpeleta's is also pushing for a maximum cost of 1-million Euros for a CRT bike.
Honda are rumoured to spend around 40-million Euros just on their Repsol factory team, Ezpeleta has said this cannot go on.
The MotoGP paddock is divided about the introduction of CRT and the proposed all-CRT rules going forward. Dorna have signalled that the end of May is their target to agree the post-2012 rule changes, designed to reduce costs without alienating the three remaining manufacturers: Honda, Yamaha and Ducati.
