FRENCHMAN Randy De Puniet is hoping to make a comeback to MotoGP at Brno following his injuries sustained in the crash at Sachsenring

The rest has been good for the LCR Honda rider but it was frustrating watching the Laguna Seca from a hospital bed. Speaking on his rehabilitation De Puniet said: “The doctors are always surprised with the speed with which I recover, and I have to admit that I am as surprised as they are! I use my crutches less and less.

"I still hope to be back for the next Grand Prix … however the final decision will be made in Brno next Thursday when the circuit Doctors will examinate my leg and my overall physical condition.” continued De Puniet

The crash at Sachsenring resulted in a fractured left tibia and fibula and should he fail the medical checks on the Thursday before the race, Roger Lee Hayden will be on hand at the Czech circuit to continue his substitute role in the LCR Honda team.

With only 26 days away from the De Puniet factor has been missed from the MotoGP grid.

De Puniet is a favorite of mine, but I really worry about his prospects.  Rossi on an unhealed broken leg is one thing, but Randy is far too accident prone and on razor's edge to take the same risk.  I foresee a motogp tragedy unfolding here.
