CAL Crutchlow believes that he has a good chance of partnering Jorge Lorenzo in the factory Yamaha team next season.

“I really don’t know. I think I’ve got a good shout at it but it’s down to the Yamaha bosses, I think at the minute we’ve proved what we can do," Crutchlow said in a live webchat with Bennetts. "Andrea has been in the factory team for three years already, he’s come back to a satellite team and is one of the best riders around but he’s already been in a factory team and maybe that will swing in my favour.”

Lorenzo extended his contract with Yamaha, but the seat alongside the 2010 champion is still up for grabs. With current rider Ben Spies, Andrea Dovizioso and Crutchlow all vying for the position.

The Brit Tech 3 rider has been attached to a ride with the factory Ducati team, however he added: “My priority is to stay with Yamaha – they’ve been very loyal to me over the last four years and hopefully I can repay them this year and do a good job with them so I’ll wait to see what they want to do first and foremost but if not we’ll look at other options that are on the table.”

Please, dear god, not that Duke Cal!!!! IMO, if Ben doesn't turn it around sharpish he's going to be looking for a new ride. We all know how good Ben is, which is why it's so shocking to see him perform the way he is this season..
