INSPIRED by the injury-to-podium comeback by his Tech3 teammate Cal Crutchlow will attempt to ride at Assen following the crash at Silverstone less than two weeks ago.

Announcing the latest injury update on his Twitter feed, Crutchlow has said he will test his fitness in the first free practice session on Thursday, stating: "Yes I will ride at assen … see how I am on Thursday etc and go from there"

Crutchlow sustained a broken left collarbone in a highside that took place in the early stages of qualifying, forcing him to miss his rookie British GP. Having undergone surgery to the breakage, the damage was diagnosed as worse than the injury suffered by Colin Edwards as the collarbone was broken in five places.

The 25-year-old rookie was admitted to hospital with the shoulder injury alongside a suspected fracture of his C2 vertebrae and concussion. Subsequent scans revealed no damage to his neck, following the Brit was immediately transferred for surgery on his left collarbone. Where a titanium plate and several screws were fitted to his shoulder.
