Ailing Stoner opts for lighter clutch

Ill health forces young Aussie to rethink machine set up

SICKLY AUSTRALIAN Casey Stoner is using a specially modified clutch to help with his fatigue problems, the rider revealed at Donington Park.

“It’s lighter, to make it easier for me,” he said, adding that there were some heavier internal components in the slipper clutch.

“It grabs a little bit at low revs, and doesn’t have a lot of feeling or feedback. But at higher revs it performs a bit better,” he said.

The youngster has been plagued by a recent bout of ill health and has now decided to return to his homeland for further treatment. “I’m going back to Australia after this. And looking forward to it.”

the more this goes on, the more I'm sure he's got a few problems upstairs and not as much wrong physically as he makes out.

He's never come across as a well balanced individual with a bit to spare for a laugh and a joke, and as a very distant, totally unqualified, but very interested observer I think he takes everything too seriously, and I don't think he knows how to deal with getting beaten.

He's a regular at excuse making and blaming anyone/thing when he doesn't get best, and I think this is symptomatic of someone that isn't always dealing with it in a balanced way.

Hope they find a medicine that sorts him out, because he's a superb racer when he's on it, but I have a feeling they'll only find a cure deep into a session or 3 on a comfy leather reclining chair....

Bitch
Stoner the moaner, if he doesn't win there is something wrong with him or the bike. He never admits that the other riders are doing a better job than him. I think he has Yamahalitis in the head. He can ride very fast but can't race, if he is in the front and pulling a gap, everything is fine, just don't let anyone challenge him, because he came up the ranks you know! I don't know where he thinks Rossi and Lorenzo came from, maybe Mars or Venus.

I agree with the 2 previous comments, however maybe it's a good time to give him the rest of the year off & offer his ride to Troy Bayliss. I'm a Rossi fan but what a race that would be!

I agree fully, Stoner has head problems, he's been listening to all the whinging Poms instead of concentrating on his riding.

Stoner is following in the footsteps of the great, freddie Spencer comes to mind. He's folded.

I dunno what to make of all this. If IF Suzuki do go the CRT route, I reckon it would be a bit of a shame. But I can understand the reasons,...
