Abraham confirmed for 2011 MotoGP

Mid-pack Moto2 rider secures Ducati ride in next year's premier league

CURRENT MOTO2 rider Karel Abraham was formally confirmed at Brno for next year's MotoGP grid, boosting Ducati's presence in the premier league to six machines, equalling Honda.

The Czech rider is the son of wealthy businessman, who owns a successful heart monitor and medical equipment company, as well as the Brno circuit and promotes the GP. Handy that.

Abraham Junior, however, has to some extent justified the backing, with increasingly strong performances leading to fourth and fifth places at the last two rounds. Although his form at the start of the season was hardly startling.

Ducati MotoGP Project Manager Alessandro Cicognani confirmed that, like other satellite teams, there will be three Ducati staff in the pit, including an electronics technician.

The guy has never had a podium in 125, 250 or moto 2. Spoiled little jerk. No wonder MotoGP is on the ropes.

Now THAT says it all!  As a HUGE MotoGP fan I've been following this thinking WTF?  What about all the other TOP riders in Moto2?  But, of course, it comes down to lineage and nepotism.  MotoGP will continue to flounder with this kind of sh*t going on.  Our group that goes to MotoGP EVERY year at Laguna Seca has already decided "what's the point in watching the 'meaningless' AMA series (relative to what we 'thought' was the best of the best) MotoGP?  It is barely racing by the time they spread out.  Now we get to watch Abraham take up the rear ... GREAT IDEA!  He doesn't hold a candle to the Moto2 riders currently running at the top!  This is disgusting and our group won't be attending the 2011 MotoGP because of this exact CR*P!

motogp is on a downward spiral its just not interesting anymore, too many rules i think dont help and the amount of money teams can spend.

but moto2 is totally opposite 40 or so riders is so much more interesting to watch

and what with it been said 125s been axed in the future due to emissions

that means only one race worth watching the budget wont cover that.

so i think the whole system could be scrapped in favour of world superbike championships with added moto2 in favour of supersport.

who knows eh

MOTOGP will be back big time in 2012 when back to litre bikes, wait and see.

Mike Cavan - bit of an ott response to some kid being bought a chance to ride MOTOGP, he did apparently set competitive times in a test so who knows, he may beat the Texas Tornado as he is fizzling out fast, especially now his team mate Ben Spies is kicking his sorry ass all the time.

I dunno what to make of all this. If IF Suzuki do go the CRT route, I reckon it would be a bit of a shame. But I can understand the reasons,...
