MV Agusta announce BSB return

Legendary Italian manufacturer has announced that it will return to the fray in BSB from 2013 but as yet have no manager and no riders...

MV AGUSTA will compete in the British domestic championship with a two-man team from 2013.

The team will run through franchised dealer Robinsons of Rochdale with full backing from the Varese-based manufacturer and UK importer MotoGB.

It has been announced that the riders will compete on a pair of updated F4-RRs for 2013. This will surprise some, who may have expected to see the more recent F3 675 on the grid.

The F4 (1000R) last featured in British Superbikes and Superstock championships in 2007, ridden by  Brian McCormack and Martin Buckles of Trackstar-Racing.

Steve Rostron, General Manager of Robinsons of Rochdale says: 'These are exciting times for MV Agusta and British racing in general. The MSV-run BSB series is the best domestic series in the world, so it’s little wonder that MV Agusta want the UK series to be the crucible in which their amazing updated F4-RR is tested against the best machines and riders from around the globe.'

'We intend to run a strong, two-man team so we can develop the F4 into a true championship contender. Much of the infrastructure is already in place, as the team will feature race hospitality that will seat 50 people, a top-line team manager and two riders – all of whom are yet to be named.'

Rumour has it that Jack Valentine, who recently left Crescent Suzuki and WSB, is looking for a job...
