Son of 500cc GP legend to compete in British 125 championship
DAKOTA Mamola, son of 500cc GP legend Randy Mamola, is to race in the UK in 2010.The 15-year-old will take part in 10 rounds of the British 125GP Championship, riding for the KRP team. Mamola will partner Taylor Mackenzie in the squad - Mackenzie is the son of former 500cc legend and multiple BSB champ, Niall Mackenzie. The team's manager Mark Keen, said:“It is fantastic news for the championship and racing as a whole that Dakota joins us this season.
He has a famous family name, but he brings with him his own talent, focus and passion. He's just a good kid.”
And he brings with him ££££££ for the team no doubt..... isn't it a shame that so many talented young british riders dont get a look in because they dont have telephone numbers of money to give away. And the question is always asked...' why is there so little british talent coming through the ranks'
The powers that be should look further than their pockets.
