MULTIPLE TT winner Ian Lougher has joined forces with Kawasaki Motors UK for the 2010, running Kawasaki’s official Superstock entry under the banner of Team Blackhorse Kawasaki.

The Welshman will be joined by two further riders, yet to be announced, who will compete as part of the new team in the Junior Superstock class under Lougher’s experienced and watchful eye as part of the British Superbike Championship calendar. And in the 1000cc Superstock category, KMUK’s new official team plans to mount a concerted assault in search of championship honours.

“Kawasaki have a long association with Blackhorse and the Ninjas are great machines for the Superstock and other classes”, said the winner of eight Northwest 200 races and 14 Ulster GPs. “The base packages have already proved themselves admirably and now it’s down to me and the team to turn this potential into even more Kawasaki podiums”.

With potential rider negotiations at an advanced stage, the prospect of success is something that KMUK’s Racing Coordinator, Ross Burridge, relishes.

“Ian is as competitive as ever and understands every aspect of racing on roads and closed circuits. I am sure he and his teammates will make Team Blackhorse Kawasaki one of the most competitive outfits in the paddock”.

As well as his new managerial role at Kawasaki, Ian will continue to compete on the road racing scene.
