Dan Linfoot has taken his first MCE British Superbike championship race win and the new Honda Fireblade’s maiden victory as Jake Dixon holds on to third to book his place in the Showdown top six as just seven riders make the finish.

In rainy conditions the BSB Showdown decider had two top six spots to be confirmed between Dixon, Jason O’Halloran, Luke Mossey and Christian Iddon. While conditions initially appeared okay to race the rain intensified and the rate of attrition ramped up from the start of lap six which saw just seven riders remain on track before the red flag finish at the end of lap nine.

Dixon was the only rider out of the BSB Showdown contenders to stay upright to take third and duly book his top six place while O’Halloran also made it into the Showdown despite tipping off at the first corner.

The rider who held his nerve best was Linfoot to take his first BSB win ahead of Michael Laverty, taking his first podium of the year, as Dixon rounded out the rostrum to grab an emotional Showdown spot.

Out of the remaining finishers James Westmoreland finished fourth ahead of Jakub Smrz, Bradley Ray and Lee Jackson – as every other rider crashed out in the rain.
