MULTIPLE British Supermoto Champion, Christian Iddon has signed to ride in the British Supersport Championship with the Oxford Tag Triumph team for 2011.
The 25-year-old from Derbyshire will join Paul Young, Billy McConnell and Shaun Winfield to complete an exciting four-rider line-up for 2011.
Christian only recently made the switch from Supermoto to Road Racing with a few club races in 2008 and early 2009, before lining up on the grid in no less than four different British Championship classes, gaining experience in Superstock 600 and 1000 and Superbike with SMT Honda and Supersport with GNS Racing.
Christian Iddon:
“2010 was my first full season of road racing and what looked like being a dream year in BSB ended up becoming quite unsettled.
"I had a few options for 2011 but when the opportunity to race with the Oxford Tag Triumph team in Supersport came up I knew it was the right one for me; it was the most concrete and the team have big plans.
"The Triumph Daytona 675 is a fantastic bike, the team is very professional, and my new team-mates are fantastic riders so I’m sure I’ll have everything I need to be competitive.
"I’ve had long talks with the team owner, Rob Winfield, and I’m feeling confident that with the Oxford Tag Triumph team I’ll be able to learn to go fast in this class, enjoy my racing and start achieving the results I know that I’m capable of without the burden of huge pressure and expectation.
"I’m sure 2011 is going to be a great year for me and the team.”
