CHRISTIAN IDDON is looking for another ride in the 2010 British Superbike Championship after being dropped by SMT Honda.
The nine-time British Supermoto Champion told Visordown he received a call on Monday this week from SMT boss Robin Croft telling him he was "no longer on the bike".
Iddon currently ranks 24th in the Championship Standings with 5 points.
Speaking to Visordown, Iddon said: "The whole idea was to spend the first year learning. They (SMT) knew what was involved in bringing someone into the series who'd never had a full season in road racing, never mind on a Superbike."
Prior to joining SMT, Iddon showed promise by competing in a handful of circuit races, returning some decent results. Despite SMT's decision he believes he's put up some respectable performances in 2010 BSB, given his negligible road racing experience.
"We've been fighting with riders all season who've got ten years experience riding these kind of bikes," said a disappointed Iddon.
At present he has no idea what the future holds for him but says he may stuggle to find another ride part-way through the season.
"We thought we were set for the season but that's obviously not now the case. It's going to be tough finding a seat elsewhere. I'm really gutted about it."
SMT has yet to announce Iddon's replacement.
