FORMER BRITISH Supersport champion Karl Harris recently took his first spin aboard the GR Motorsport Aprilia RSV4 at Mallory Park, ahead of the start of the 2010 British Superbike season.
Harris, who had a disappointing 2009 season riding for several BSB teams, enthused about his latest ride - as you do when someone throws you a lifeline with only weeks to the start of the 2010 championship.
“This is the first time I have been able to let rip on the RSV4 and I was not disappointed – it's an awesome bike!," said Harris.
"The chassis is fantastic and lives up to everything I was told, I doubt it will need much development before it’s ready for racing. The bike changes direction better than anything I have ever ridden. The power delivery is amazing and took me completely by surprise when you consider that this is essentially a standard road bike. It delivers power like a factory superbike and I can’t wait to race it!”
So what's the verdict? A race-winning combination or another crater looking for a grid reference?
