SWAN HONDA rider Stuart Easton will be ready for the opening round of the 2010 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship, despite needing surgery on an injury sustained yesterday in an accident at Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire.

Easton fell Charlie's Corner, suffering a cut to the back of his leg. The Scot was airlifted to hospital for X-Rays, followed by an operation before being given the all-clear to be discharged today.

"I see myself as being lucky for two reasons," said Easton. "one the bike could have landed completely on me and the other I could have done more injury. As it is I only have tissue damage, so nothing to my tendons or ligaments.

“I was operated on last night at Lincoln hospital and now 24 hours later I am on the mend. I am going to take it easy the next few days and then I will be ready for Brands Hatch."
