MOTOGP ROOKIE Alvaro Bautista is set to give British Superbike fans a thrill when he laps Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit on his works Suzuki GSV-R800 racer.

Bautista, who scored an impressive fifth in last weekend's Catalunya GP, will be putting in a handful of spirited laps on the 240bhp machine on Saturday/Sunday 7/8 August at the eighth round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship.

The four-stroke machine will be the fastest motorcycles to lap the 2.3-mile track; wonder if he'll go for the outright lap record? The hottest WSB lap of Brands GP circuit is held by Troy Bayliss with a 1m25.416s.

Ahead of the event, Bautista said: “It will be interesting for me to go to Brands Hatch because I have never been there before and it is such a famous track. It will be good to learn another circuit and to visit a totally new place. To have new experiences like this is always good and it will be interesting for me to ride the bike and get more of a feeling for it at different places. I am looking forward to doing the demo run and showing the British fans that have never seen a MotoGP bike just what it is all about.”

Last month Cameron Donald treated Isle of Man TT fans to a high speed lap of the 37.73-mile Island circuit, hitting 202mph along Sulby Straight. See the video.
