Video: Lorry shunts car for half-mile on A1(M)

No bikes involved - but still serious food for thought

THANKFULLY there AREN'T any motorcycles involved in this clip - just a car and an HGV driven by a dozey twit.

See for yourself how the lorry driver fails to notice his 18-wheel truck is pushing a car along at 60mph for almost half a mile, in a clip caught on camera by another motorist, on a Yorkshire stretch of the A1 (M) in January this year.

West Yorkshire Police attended the scene once the vehicles had ground to a halt. It's reported there were no injuries and no one was arrested.

What if there'd been a biker involved?

Sock.

What if there'd been a biker involved?

Do you mean if he was driving the car, or the lorry, or filming the incident?

...or probably a biker should have done a wheelie to raise the popularity of the event...

If a biker was driving the car he would be cited for excessive speed and reckless endangerment.  If the biker had been driving the lorry the accident wouldn't have happened.  If the biker was filming the incident the clip would have ended with his girlfiriend flashing for the camera.

The truck driver must have been on drugs, or, he was so pissed off at the car driver for whatever reason, he was running him down deliberatly.I drive bigger rigs than that, and there's no way in a million years that truck driver wouldn't have felt the car impact, heard noises, or felt shuddering and drag on the truck, even though he said he couldn't see it. Total bollocks !!!

This is local to me - I know this road well.

The Police have got more involved now that this video has emerged, they didn't seem too bothered before.

How the hell didn't the truck driver notice? Bit of road rage gone too far maybe???

If it wasn't road rage the truck driver was a zombi, spaced out on drugs, brain dead or in a coma. The cop's must be Homer Simpsen clones to think anything differant. What an absolute joke ! I didn't notice the car !

The hgv driver is obviously a complete numpty, but what about the car driver, how the hell did it get there in the first place.

Yet another case of cagers not looking where the hell they are going!

Why mention 'what' if a motorcyclist was involved? What if a man was walking a dog was involved?. It is obvious of what has happened here - the car driver has not bothered to look in the mirrors and just pulled in front of the truck - the car then gets pushed sideways in front of the truck. The truck driver is not being observant after the evident - therefore they are both to blame for the usual bad driving you see everyday on the roads. The Police are not interested in these situations, because it is easier to prosecute speeding vehicles.
