First Look: Brammo Enertia Plus

Brammo unveil new 'long distance' zero emission street bike

ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE manufacturer Brammo has unveiled a 'long distance' version of the company's Enertia roadbike, which now has an 80-mile range, doubling the previous bike's distance.

Called the Enertia Plus, the new bike will manage 80 miles to a charge, while still producing 30ft-lbs torque. The Plus weighs the same as its predecessor: 324lbs all-in.

Cost? It'll cost $8,995 (£5,700) when it goes on sale in the US next year - just $1,000 more than the normal Enertia.

And that's not all. Current Enertia owners get a $2,500 rebate, while some US states offer substantial financial incentives for those wishing to go the zero-emission route.

Isn't it time the UK government followed suit?

Mr. BleedingObvious
What is the point of this, when they have plans to release the new model cafe racer naked style one nearly at the same time, with 100 mile average range, and ability to go more than 100mph?

Unless 100% of our electricity comes from wind, waves and sun then charging up your electric vehicle from the mains completly contradicts its "green" selling points.

i agree with mobus on this. green is a great idea but just displacing where the fossil fuels are burnt is not green but its fucking sneaky

over the next few years i predict that bikes like this will phaze in and out very quickly as battery technology gets better and better.

its another main brand power/speed/range race like what we had with the super bikes that culminated with the busa

i wonder how long it will take the govm to step in with power restrictions when ther bikes get to that ability?

In most states, a moped cannot go faster than 30 Miles Per Hour. Anything faster than that must be licensed, insured and operated as a motorcycle, so if you're looking for something you can ride without a license, you're out of luck.
