Doohan fronts new Aussie road-safety video

Check this clever bike safety campaign from Down Under

ONE OF the cleverest road safety campaigns we've seen in years has been released in Australia and it's so good we're wondering why the same sort of thing hasn't been done over here.

Fronted by five-time 500cc World Champion Mick Doohan, the campaign shows some of the big crashes from MotoGP but has road furniture put into the footage (a couple of phoneboxes, a park bench and a seat and a parked bus) with the action stopping before the MotoGP heroes plough into the roadside objects.

Called: No Place To Race, the campaign ad is certainly thought-provoking stuff.

All well and good, but whats the alternative...

DiscoDarren

What's the alternative?

Take up racing, go on trackdays, slow down,  take up another pastime or failing that - death...

Mr Butterscotch
I think the alternative is to be a better rider, not speed and be more aware of the dangers on the road.  The point here is that one the track they can get away with it to a certain degree (some don't even there), on the road you really REALLY can't afford to fall off.  Accidents do happen, but we all need to improve our skills to minimise that risk.

Come on guys, do you mean to tell me that you honestly dont know why that safety video fronted by mick Doohan is not shown in the UK,

Its because its deamed to dangerous to show, so the road safety bods will not allow it  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bikingbadger
Good non-patronising advert.  I liked it and yes we should show it (or an equivalent) over here.

Mr_Lennie

Where was the car pulling out of a junction infront of a bike?
