Team Rob Mac rider lucky to escape with minor injuries after being swiped off his bike by Tom Sykes' Suzuki
HERE'S THE sickening moment during yesterday's second BSB race at Thruxton when Tom Sykes' Rizla Suzuki collides with Karl Harris' Team Rob Mac Yamaha.
Thankfully the pair both limped away from the incident, but Harris was unable to take part in the restart. Back in the pits after a medical check up Harris said:
"I am gutted, but I don't feel too bad to be honest apart from sore knees and a bad ankle. I haven't taken it all in yet, but I feel like I have been in a boxing ring with Calzaghe! I will be back with a vengeance at Oulton Park."
This guy is made from iron, and he really does deserve a bit of luck! I was there on the day and enjoyed a fantastic days racing, and included a 9 hour round trip on 2 wheels and the sun coming out!!
What more could a man ask for??

Sweet Jesus!!!!! Ouch. Puched in the face with a whole GSXR and still walked away (just). They earn their money don't they.

One hell of an accident. Wouldn't want to see it happen again to any body but at least he didn't hit his head at that speed on something stationary or heading towards him. There by the grace of God ,he and flying bike were both heading in the same direction thus reducing the impact speed.
Not that it would be any less painful.

Total respect for the man - to walk away from that is unreal.
Sadly left Thruxton with zero points - he'll have to do some catching up if he's to have any chance of the title. I hope he stays at the sharp-end all season.
For once BSB delivered good races - cant wait for the rest of the season

Zero points? At least he left Thruxton walking.... and that GSXR must have seemed pretty stationary when he hit it/ it hit him...
Karl really seems to have p*ssed off the good luck fairy - like Steve Parrish says, "if he was a duck, he'd sink!"
Best of luck Karl, for the rest of the season.
BTW, what was Sykes throwing his teddy out the cot about after his off?
