New luggage for naked bikes from SW Motech

Because funky roadster riders want to carry stuff too

SW Motech luggage

Everyone loves a naked bike nowadays. The riding position, the light weight, styling - it's all good. But (there's always a but...) getting decent luggage strapped on can be a faff. Minimalist tail units, skinny pillion seats - it's hard for aftermarket folks to find anywhere to bolt on a rack or brackets to hold hard luggage.

Enter the SW Motech Urban luggage range, for naked bikes like the Yamaha MT-07/09, KTM Duke and Ducati Monster. They're made from ‘hard’ ABS plastic to keep contents better protected than soft luggage, yet they're smaller and lighter than hard panniers  - just 1.4kg - attaching with a keyless push-to-fit system for ease of use.

The cases are shaped to follow the lines of the bike, designed not to add excess width, affect aerodynamics or get in the way of the rider or passenger. Zip entry makes loading and unloading a doddle and you also get a removable waterproof inner bag.

The bags attach using SW Motech’s SLC brackets. They’re also compact and light, are bike specific and attach using existing points on the sub-frame - no drilling or cutting or additional brackets needed.

Integrated carry handles make life off the bike easy too. Should the rider wish to leave one or both behind, the bags can be locked to the rails using a hidden twist lock inside - again, no keys to worry about. Combination locks are also supplied for securing the entry zippers.

The SW-Motech Urban ABS Bags kit adds a generous 33 litres of carrying capacity, and is supplied with everything needed to get up and running: two Bags, Waterproof Inners, two Combination Locks, SLC Carriers and all fittings and fixings. A typical system retails at £356.99 including VAT.
