GPR Exhausts now available in UK

MotoGP-derived systems now on sale through new distributor

by Visordown News

ITALIAN MANUFACTURER are now available in the UK via Moto Legends, run by former Bridgestone and Micron front man Arthur Macdonald.

GPR have been in business since 1968 so know a thing or two about exhaust systems. For many years they specialised in scooter systems gaining a large following in all the key scooter countries. Their scooter products have long been available to the UK trade through scooter giants V.E.

In more recent years they have turned their attention to their Milan manufacturing base where everything is still produced (and largely hand made) have been turning out some very cool cans and full systems.

The Grand Prix Evolution range was developed during their time as technical partner to LCR Honda in Moto GP and was followed with collaborations with Konica Minolta and D’Antin Ducati in 2007. Fresh for 2009 is a new company who plan to make GPR as popular here as it is its homeland.

“When GPR approached me after the unfortunate collapse of Micron I was very sceptical about the viability of a new player in what is a very difficult market," says Arthur.

"But with the focus on quality, innovation and perhaps most importantly value for money I’m convinced GPR will make a lot of friends in the UK. With the support of the world’s largest motorsport mail order company behind us to handle warehousing and deliveries customers can buy with confidence that every aspect of their purchase, from design to delivery is being handled by experts.”

The web site is still a work in progress and can be viewed at www.motolegends.com telephone contact 01636 605105. Trade enquiries are welcomed.

GPR need to finish there web site.

Posted: 28/01/2009 at 21:20

Arthur Macdonald

GPR have a web site it is www.gpr.it but we do need to finish ours. I can assure you that I am doing everything I can to move this forward and everyday more content is going up. But as anyone who has ever been in this position knows it is a very difficult path to tread, do you sack the company that is contracted to do the work and start again? Or do you try and keep the peace and move forward? Once I have sufficient hindsight I'll know what I should have done! But for now I can feel the proximity of rocks and hard things. If you do need any specific information just use the contact us option and we'll get whatever information you need.

Regards

Arthur Macdonald

It's done! Well very nearly.

A complete new site is up and we are just finalising a few small points.

Take a look, give some feedback.

Regards,

Arthur

The site looks good Arthur... your select by manufacturer page is pretty good, simple and better than some sites I've been onto.

Posted: 13/03/2009 at 08:26

Arthur Macdonald

Thanks. I think I would prefer a bike selecter with a drop down and may well implement that later but it'll do for now.

Just tell everybody you know to buy one!

Tbh I think the 'pick your bike badge' front end you have is better Arthur... some of those with endless lists and text can be pretty dull... yours is OK.

I wouldn't wish two web sites on anybody. It has nearly broke me, mentally and financially getting it done

Arthur

I am offering my services as an independant tester, if you can supply me with a set of cans and a link pipe for my bike (GSXR 1000 K7), i will test the following:

  1. how easy are they to fit, from an idiots perspective
  2. how they sound in comparisson to say the micron gp cans and leo vince decat pipe i have on at the moment
  3. what their power output is over standard (i will have the bike dyno'd)
  4. i will also ask for feed back from friends about how good they look

feel free to pm me if you like this idea, i am available at your request,

tim

Can't blame a guy for asking can you?

You would have been better off with the Micron de-cat pipe. Nial McKenzie did the test up at Micron with the cans you've got the de-cat pipe and a Power Commander. Very good indeed. The Micron de-cat pipe was hydroformed and tapered and was a work of art.

The GPR can look like this.

I think Suzuki copied Micron for the K9

There's nothing like an old thread coming to life like an old thread coming to life.

We've significantly improved things I hope with an all new website. There is still work to do but it is a massive improvement. More retail focussed than the last one.

Have a look at www.gpr-motorcycle-exhausts.co.uk

erny

got my GPR can from Arthur.

strapped it to my TDM, baffle in, but left the db killer out.

Feck, it's sexy.

Without the baffle , it's majestic , a tell thee.

Been promising Arthur a vid of it, must remember this weekend.

I purchased a can from Arthur  two seasons ago and to be honest, I,ve never had such excellent customer service in my life.........for ANYTHING!The guy is a gentleman, and was quick to respond to any follow up enquiry I had. Bear in mind, these cans are only new to these islands, so I believed I was taking a gamble. Am I glad I did!! Just wish I had known about  GPR  when I had my 06 ,Blade.Best sounding can I ever had , and before you all start, I,ve put Microns, Akra,s, Two Brothers, Carbon Can Co , on four of the six ,Blades I,ve owned. This one, is on my 08 ,Blade, and, because of it, I feel I,ll be keeping this bike longer than I anticipated. Beautifully crafted, light, easy to fit and with a sound that I can,t get enough of. I can safely say , I,ll not be buying any other can for any other bike from here on in. Go for it!

I dunno what to make of all this. If IF Suzuki do go the CRT route, I reckon it would be a bit of a shame. But I can understand the reasons,...
