WHEN KTM unveiled its 790 Duke prototype at the Eicma show in Milan in November, it quickly became one of our favourite bikes of the show.

Now, we can finally get to see it in action thanks to this new promotional video from KTM.

Being a KTM video, it features all the good stuff – wheelies, burnout, skids, stoppies plus a thrashing on track. We're salivating at the prospect of riding this and at the direction KTM is going to take its Duke family, and what else we can expect to see from them over the next few years.

The video is the strongest indication yet that we can expect to see the twin-cylinder circa-800cc 790 Duke become a production model. We’ve got our fingers crossed for an official reveal at the end of next year - meaning availability in 2018. It's going to be a long 12 months.

KTM says the Kiska-styled 790 Duke prototype is ‘designed with unparallel poise and lightness in mind’. It’s built around a steel frame, uses prototype WP suspension and KTM tells us that it has a comprehensive suite of next-generation riding assistance including an IMU and personalised traction control.

I don't own what it is about this bike but I'm slowly falling in love with it. It's ugly, crude, impractical and orange (it's basically a Geordie shore character) but something about it is just getting me hooked. I think a test ride needs to be arranged

...is very popular in the USA right now.

And people say parallel twins lack character and never as exciting as a v twin?!?
