Triumph revise the Tiger 1050

New suspension, lower bars and different graphics

by Visordown News

TRIUMPH have revised the Tiger 1050 with upgraded suspension, sportioer riding position and new graphics.

The 2012 model-year bike features upgraded suspension consisting of redesigned internals and new damping characteristics front and rear, with a stiffer spring at the rear. Triumph have aimed to reduce dive under braking and also make the bike more stable two-up with luggage. The new handlebars sit 20mm lower than the current model too.

The black paint's been out on the wheels, sprocket carrier and brake callipers, while silencers and heel guards now take on a brushed, rather than polished, aluminium finish.

The standard Tiger 1050 comes in Triumph’s metallic Phantom Black, while the SE version offers three colour options: Diablo Red, Crystal White and a two-tone Matt Black/Matt Graphite combination. The higher specification Tiger 1050SE also benefits from Triumph’s ABS braking system, as well as the standard fitment of handguards, centre stand and panniers, optional extras on the standard Tiger 1050.

The Tiger 1050 and Tiger 1050SE are now on sale, priced at £9,099 OTR and £9,999 OTR respectively, inclusive of Triumph’s two-year, unlimited mileage warranty.

We're not sure what current owners will think of the new lower handlebars but we'll be test-riding one soon.

How very "Triple black BMW GS" this is ..... good to copy another companies successful paintscheme.

Well the ‘copy artists’ were always the Japanese, then they took the lead and kept it for decades. I suspect this writing is also ‘on the wall’ for Triumph vs BMW. Triumph have not been putting a foot wrong recently.

That looks bloody nice now ... but I wasn't aware that any manufacturers had exclusive use of any partricular colour.

Can you find a bike in Triumph's range that isn't offered in black? In fact it's not all that often that you'll find a bike that doesn't come in black. Hardly the property of BMW, get off the band wagon

Saw one with a tasty zoorst in North Cheam the other day, bloke seemed miffed that someone on a supermoto gave him a nod of appreciation. Blooming nice bike, looks even better now.

>Zorst = Exhaust<

ahhh... yes, of course... that's what I thought... but I just wanted to be sure...

I am more used to the "fruity pipe" term being used when referencing exhaust system upgrades on the UK bike websites that I visit...

Thanks mate!!

Sorry to piss on your chips fella but Triumph launched the Tiger SE on an 09 plate in Matt grey and Black, i bought a brand new one in March 2010....a long time before the "Triple Black" GS was launched....

I dunno what to make of all this. If IF Suzuki do go the CRT route, I reckon it would be a bit of a shame. But I can understand the reasons,...
