Triumph launching new bike on track next month

Teaser video points to new Speed Triple

TRIUMPH has already shown us a quite impressive array of new additions to the line-up for 2018, in the shape of a new Tiger range and two new Bonnevilles

But one thing we haven't seen is a new 2018 model which would seem befitting of a launch on track.

Which begs the question: what is the bike that Triumph is set to launch with a track session at Almeria in Spain on February 19?

A Triumph invitation to journalists reveals a test ride will be held on track but witholds details of the model.

Luckily a clue comes in the teaser video above, just published on Triumph's official YouTube channel. It shows a Speed Triple in silhouette, with new exhausts and five-spoke wheels instead of the current bike's 10-spokers. There's also a view of a TFT dash, which is new.

Although the video's ostensibly about a supposed rivalry between four-time WSB champion Carl Fogarty and two-time TT winner Gary Johnson, it ends by telling us 'A new champion will rise' at 8am on January 29. That's next Monday, which would seem about the right time to unveil a new model ahead of a press launch on track three weeks later.
