The original Daytona Super III from 1994

JUST as we are waiting for Triumph to officially unveil its much-spied 2013 Daytona 675 – a heftily revamped version of the existing bike – the firm has gone and launched a limited-edition celebratory take on the outgoing model.

Called the Daytona Super III, it's a tribute to – you guessed it – the original Daytona Super III from 1994. While that was a 900, the new model's specs are straight from the existing Daytona 675. It's differentiated by the special colour scheme, done out-of-house by 8-Ball Paintwork, and only 75 will be made, each individually numbered on the fuel tank.

Add-ons include a quick-shifter, carbon cockpit trim, a carbon front hugger, carbon exhaust surround and adjustable alloy levers.

Bruno Tagliaferri, sales manager at Triumph UK, said: “The original Super IIIs have earned something of a cult status among riders, with any used originals flying out of dealers as soon as they hit the forecourt. That appetite for such a distinctive-looking bike inspired us to join forces with the guys at 8-Ball Paintwork to create this new tribute edition. The new Daytona 675 Super IIIs look really stunning and are sure to be very popular, given the restricted production run.”

Yours for £8,999 on-the-road.

That looks very nice in that colour scheme.

that looks bloody awful in that paint scheme, especially the union jacks!!

I have to say that I like that colour scheme and thought the union jacks look good as well, nice and understated.

Cheesy.

Agreed! A real cheesefest unfortunately. Don't like the Union Jack eyebrows and all the unnecessary lettering is just that - unnecessary! Shame really because under all this, the 675 is a great looking bike.

I like it, shame you've gotta be under 5' 7" and under 10 stone to actually not look like a knob on these things. They are supposed to be brilliant!!

Posted: 02/10/2012 at 09:49

my knob isnt 10 stone, am i lacking something?

but really i agree, i can buy shirts shoes and pants to fit so why not a bike thats fits?

is a 6 foot 15 stone bloke average these days, i certainly feel average

I love it and would love to have one sit next to my 1994 model

How much is that plastic fairin bit? and it all looks a bit odd, but yes should blend in nicely with all the others, bet you even get 30mpg +, and when you stuff it, that tank will splatter your nuts, still be great on a track, not a dirt track, or even what passes for roads these days, ...very nice eh
