An electric sportsbike?

Pretty

THIS 250-sized supersport machine is one of seven prototype Hondas to be showcased at the Tokyo Motorshow. Most of the other show models are four-wheeled.

Details are sketchy but Honda claim that this RC-E is: 'An EV version of a super sports bike that pursues the joy of riding. A powerful and smooth ride unique to an EV model is achieved with the 250cc-class compact body.'

The working model also features a removable power source allowing the user to power other products when the bike's not in use.

The Tokyo Motor Show will take place at Tokyo Big Sight from Saturday 3 December to Sunday 11 December 2011.

All Honda need to do is stick a 1000cc V4 engine in that and they'll be on to a winner. It looks perfect.

The removable power pack is an interesting idea. Swop a flat battery for a charged one a petrol station instead of waiting for it to charge?

In my case though I'd probably get all my gear on to go for a ride and find the missus has flattened the battery with her hair straighteners!

Im looking forward to electric bikes and reckon tracks days will be a natural place for them to develop. Especially if they look as good as this one!
