Slovenian moped manufacturer returns to the UK

TOMOS mopeds are returning to the UK, for the first time in 30 years.

New importers, Tomos GB are launching with the Classic XL moped which the company claims weighs just 55kgs, will do 100mpg and only costs £16 a year to tax.

Tomos, the Slovenian moped manufacturer, was formed in 1954 after purchasing a production licence from Puch.

In 2007 there were fears that Tomos was to close after a press release was mistranslated, citing Chinese competition as the reason for the decision. However, Tomos had actually announced their were ceasing to produce some parts for their mopeds, instead choosing to source them from China.

The Launch Edition of the Tomos Classic XL moped for 2013 will arrive in Baby Blue, Green Mint and Shadow Black.
