SUZUKI has just revealed this, a café racer version of the SV650 called tha SV650X.

Set to debut at the Tokyo Show on October 27, it's an 'evolution of the SV650 Rally concept shown at last year’s event,' according to Suzuki.

Sadly, it, too, is just a concept, at least until the firm assesses market reaction, Suzuki has confirmed.

Suzuki GB said in a press release: 'The original concept was designed to pay homage to the tarmac rally cars and bikes of the 1970s. ‘Neo-retro’ design sees the SV650X get a newly-styled bikini fairing and tinted screen, fog lamps, clip-on handlebars, with a tuck-roll – already available as a genuine accessory on the SV650 – completing the look.

'The Japanese firm is currently assessing market reaction and customer feedback before confirming production plans.'

Suzuki GB general manager Paul de Lusignan said: “The SV650 Rally concept generated a lot of interest at last year’s show, with retro-styled machines proving very popular among riders. The SV650X is an evolution of that concept, and shows how that would translate to a production machine. Currently we cannot confirm a production schedule. We will first assess reactions to the SV650X before finalising plans.”

The release added: 'Suzuki will confirm it’s 2018 model plans before the end of the year.'

Well, we should hope so because after that it will be 2018.

it would be nice if someone in japan studied some old books and photos and made an authentic replication of a 50/60s bike.
The chinese seem to be getting in the game but slavishly copy all the useless over complicated styling coming out of japan.
A chinese company should make a modern bike identical to all those 60s honda's
of a BSA goldstar complete with finned engine.
At least Triumph seem to be making an effort to copy its past and hide the watercooling.
With bike sales dropping due to the buyers getting even older they need to start thinking about it.

typical Suzuki, show a concept bike and then never put it into production. I remember the G-Strider and would have loved to have had the chance to buy one....... So don't worry this one won't make it to production either. So I will not be holding my breath.
