WE FIRST found out about Suzuki’s new GSX250R at the Eicma show last November so it feels like we’ve been waiting an age for this new quarter-litre sportster to hit showrooms but the wait is over because it’s now available in UK dealers for £4,299.
Suzuki is offering the GSX250R for a £1,500 deposit and then 36 payment of £90.22, with the bike owned at the end of that period.
A quick refresher on the GSX250R goes like this: power comes from the liquid-cooled four-stroke 248cc SOHC parallel-twin engine you’ll find in the Inazuma, meaning 24.7hp at 8,000rpm and 17.3lb/ft torque at 6,500rpm.
While the GSX250R might share its engine with the Inazuma, thankfully the Inazuma’s challenging styling has been ditched in favour of something more aggressive and sporty - clearly inspired by the GSX-R range. Add in the 250R’s clip-on bars and you’ve got a bike that’s going to offer a more engaging ride position and better weather protection than the Inazuma.
You can click here for more details and we’ll have a road test of the GSX250R as soon as we get our hands on one.
