Royal Enfield Continental GT – now in black

Black paint and brown seat for new edition of Royal Enfield’s café racer

ROYAL Enfield is adding a black edition of its café racer model, the Continental GT, to its UK line-up.

It means the 535cc Continental GT now comes in a choice of three colours, the other two being red or yellow.

The new edition also gets a tan coloured seat with contrasting stitching, instead of the usual black seat.

The back Continental GT will be available from April, priced at £4,999 on the road, the same as the other two options.

Siddartha Lal, CEO of Royal Enfield, said: ‘The Continental GT in black captures the feeling of freedom and fun, and reemphasises the motorcycle’s roots.  Combined with its simplicity and traditional craftsmanship, it delivers on performance and aims to provide an unrivalled motorcycling experience that is unlike any other.

‘The Continental GT is built to be an evolving motorcycle, and this is why we decided to launch a black version. It is a no-nonsense machine that is easy to maintain and one that turns heads without exception. Novices and veteran riders alike will appreciate the complete control of this motorcycle, and will be able to experience pure motorcycling at its best.’

The Continental GT, launched in 2013, was developed develop in collaboration with Harris Performance in Hertfordshire.

Visordown recently revealed how Indian-based Royal Enfield was set to launch at least three new models next year including a parallel-twin, after announcing plans for a research and development facility in Leicestershire.
